Is the implant supposed to hurt this much?

I got the nexplanon implant put in yesterday by my GP and have been told to keep the gauze she wrapped in it for 3 days. It wasn't really bugging me until the gauze came loose so I rewrapped it around to cover it again. Since then, I'm getting a sharp tugging pain where the implant was inserted and find it painful to straighten my arm.
Is this normal? Also, anyone got any experiences to share about their experience with this implant so i know what may be coming?

I don't remember it hurting that much but my arm was soooo bruised. Maybe it moved a wee bit when the bandage loosened?

Mine was painful and blistered...
But turns out I'm allergic to plasters so that was the adhesive from the dressing. It also bruised horrendously and felt tight but went away.

No, it was a uncomfortable and itchy but not super painful. Have you wrapped it too tight? Have you looked at it since? Is it red or weepy etc?

I had three, the first two hurt for a few weeks while they settled as they apparently don't always stay exactly where they are put. My first one required a fishing expedition to remove! It was like a scratching and bruised feeling, while the scar tissue developed to hold it in place. More obvious if wearing not loose sleeves. Hopefully yours feels better soon!

Mine have hurt more than I expected them to on insertion and removal. It will settle eventually.

Thanks ladies, perhaps I'm just being a weakling pain has settled down today and just feels uncomfortable. Not able to look at it as doctor has put plasters on but I can feel it with my finger when the bandage is off so I'm sure it's still where it's supposed to be
