Endo pain/ Ponstan Forte

I'm being investigated for Endometriosis and have been given Ponstan Forte for the severe pain. I've been told 3 tablets a day when the pain starts. However, reading through the booklet it says I must take them with food? Judging by the horrendous list of side effects I'm guessing they can cause indigestion etc.

Problem is that my pain very specifically starts in the middle of the night? Am I right that you don't just take this like a paracetamol (as and when), it needs to build up? My periods can be a bit unpredictable so this will be difficult to manage.

Any tips? Or can I just pop one in the middle of the night on an empty stomach and it still work? I will ask the pharmacy but I've only just realised for tonight! And I'm due any day and dreading it

I take ponstan for horrendous period pain. I keep them in my bedside drawer at night and take them. You can magically feel the pain melting away, they are incredible.

I've never had any side effects.

Thank you! Ok, I will play it by ear this month and just take them like I would a normal painkiller. I'm just utterly terrified of getting it wrong because I was in such agony last month.
