Merena coil and constant bleeding

Hi all
I had an operation for fibroids 3 years ago
They found no fibroids
I have been bleeding heavily since my daughters were born and the clothing’s are big
Sometimes I’d be drowned from the waist down in it
So they suggested the mere a coil
I asked two gps who both said it’s good to stop heavy bleeding
I’m on week 7 and have bled everyday since getting it put in
I get cramps and am starting to feel
Run down prob because I’ll be anaemic from it so I’m taking vitamins
Has anyone else experienced this and how did they remedy the whole situation?
Wish I could get my womb removed

I had a similar reaction to the mirena. I had it the requisite 3 months to see if it would settle and it never did for me. I eventually pushed for an endometrial ablation and it’s been a godsend. Barely any bleeding at all now. Had it done in February.

Took 3 months for my post insertion bleeding to stop. But it did and has been great since.

Chew Becca
That’s interesting
Three months
We’re you anaemic in those three months?
Feel like I’m dragging myself around at the moment

No, it was only light bleeding.

My experience was similar. Sudden heavy, never-ending periods which started after having my second child. Jumped through all the gp’s hoops (including mirena.) but nothing worked for me. I was anaemic, in pain, flooding and miserable. It’s a horrible thing to cope with. I have more than one friend who swear by the mirena but it wasn’t to be with my body.

I had it inserted earlier This year and the doctor said to give it 100 days to settle. It settled fairly quickly for me and I've not had any period at all for about 2 months, although I expect that'll change when I start keto again next month.
