Metronidazole advice.

Hi. Recently went to the GP for swabs to be taken due to having continuous thrush (due to being on antibiotics for pneumonia) and it came back I also had ‘bacterial vaginosis’. I don’t have a clue about this and don’t have any symptoms he mentioned. Doctor was very vague and was prescribed metronidazole tablets for a week. Has anyone had any experience with these? The reviews sound hideous Sad

Whatever you do, don't drink even a sip of alcohol

Ive had it a few times for dental abscesses. I had no problems but understand it can make you feel quite ill with nausea. Oh and don't drink alcohol for three days after finishing the course either

I had a variant - Tinadazole - with no problems whatsover. But, yeah, don't touch alcohol during the course, and three days after the course has stopped, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks all will definitely avoid alcohol, I’ve heard the side effects are awful!!

No alcohol that include mouthwash!!

Ive had it a number of times. Take with plenty if water to make sure your dont get the taste ub your mouth. Other than that I have had no issues with it. M
