I am finding after every period I am getting thrush, does anyone have any suggestions, as to treating it easy and fairly cheap and to stop it all together? Thanks

Are you using tampax or towels? I'm white allergic to towels and panty liners so that might be causing it? Also are you wearing nice big cotton knickers, boring I know but Much better for you.

Prepare for TMI: I solved this by getting some balance activ be pessaries and putting one in before the tampon. Keeps your PH balance in line. (And also not douching, but I don't know how many people do that anyway.)

I'm finding this as well! Just managed to get rid of the last lot but will go to GP next time.
I use a mooncup.

lily1062 · 06/11/2019 07:40

I'm using lil let tampons, normally with a pad of some kind, it's so annoying

Pads do this to me. No issues since switching to period pants with tampons instead

keiratwiceknightly · 06/11/2019 07:48

Avoid any pads with scents (yuk). Reusable pads are good.

TigerJoy · 06/11/2019 07:56

You could be allergic to cotton

Try different pads/ tampons. I had to stop using lillets after they started covering them with that lining. I used to get similar problems which have gone after switching to pads only

Have you had a check for diabetes?

AmIThough · 06/11/2019 07:56

Try a different brand of sanitary products.

Sillyscrabblegames · 06/11/2019 07:59

Reduce sugar in your diet, only wear cotton pants and change brand of sanitary products. I get the same problem with some brands.

lily1062 · 06/11/2019 14:06

@IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying I haven't been checked for diabetes.

I'm going to try reusable pads and a mooncup next time.

Any suggestions of how to get rid of it quickly now?

Probiotics and canestan pessary from GP/ buy OTC

roundturnandtwohalfhitches · 06/11/2019 14:21

When I've had thrush I've found the tablet v good, followed by another one a week later (as advised by the GP). I think you can use the pessary as well. But mostly a decent probiotic. Since I started eating a good probiotic yoghurt daily I have had no trouble. I invested in some period pants as well- they are fantastic and worth the money.

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 06/11/2019 14:26

Def worth getting checked out for diabetes as it can be linked with recurring thrush,
