Painful smear test now very sore after for days ! :(

Hi all ,
I had a smear test a few days ago and have been extremely sore down there since. It literally feels like someone has set me on fire down there and I havnt been able to go to work. The morning of the smear I was fine and about an hour after the test I've jus had this raging soreness down there
Has anyone else experienced this?
My first smear test a few years ago never felt like this so I don't know if this is normal .
I have just got over a bout of thrush so don't know if that makes a difference.
I'm not sure if I should use a thrush pessary if the soreness is from that ?

Sounds like it's your thrush affecting that area as cervical screening test shouldn't cause more than a day of discomfort if any.
Consultant your GP pharmacist for further advice x

I would get tested for STI's. Chlamydia can cause the symptoms you're describing.

I got tested for everything , stis bv etc. I went to a gum clinic as they were treating my thrush the past few months. Everything came back negative except for thrush. This time they asked if I wanted the smear aswell since I was there . When she checked me my thrush was gone and the swabs etc came back negative .
But seems like the test etc may have triggered my thrush again I guess
