Changes needing investigated after smear

Hey all,
I got a letter back after my most recent smear about 2 weeks ago, it says there are changes that need investigated via colposcopy or something - just wondered what the results were for you if you got this letter?

I'm not panicking as such, I'm sure it's nothing but obviously as I've been bleeding very heavily, sore sex & bleeding in between periods etc I'm a bit worried about the cancer risk.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same. They decided to snip off the bit of cervix with changes on it. Nearly 20 years ago and touch wood every smear since then has been clear.

Remember IT IS NOT CANCER. It’s changes that MAY lead to cancer if left untreated.

Thanks @AthollPlace

I suppose if it was cancer they'd be getting me in a lot quicker and I'd probably get a phone call.

It's annoying as we are TTC and have been for months and months. Hoping this doesn't set us back at all Sad

I had this in my 20s and had the cells lasered off. All smears since then have been clear and I'm late 40s. Had 2 kids in my 30s
