Suddenly my periods are no longer painful now that I'm 40.

They used to be horrendous, at 15 I fainted at school and was referred to a gynaecologist who put me on the pill, and they still hurt.

At 22 I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for suspected endometriosis and they told me I didn't have it, but if I had children my periods would probably improve.

Two children later all I had in terms of change was achey legs and vulva to add the previous monthly misery.

And now, despite still regular cycles, they've stopped hurting, which is great, but why?!! Is this a thing?
