Crippling period pain

Ive recently got a mirena in to mainly help with terrible period pain which has gotten worse over the years. I've had zero success (well, one miscarriage) getting pregnant over a few years so went for a coil.
A few months down the line I've still terrible pain when my period is due just no bleeding. I'm going to book a private gynae review to exclude endometriosis, but has anyone been in the same situation and felt better after a few months post coil?
