PMT- rage and depression

I've been plotting my moods and my periods and a few days before my period I suffer from mood swings, depression and rage. I get so low that looking back at it a few days later it doesn't even make sense. My anxiety is through the roof (I suffer general anxiety too).

My GP has prescribed propanol which is a betablocker but it doesn't seem to be helping.

I want to go back to my GP to discuss this further but really they seemed a bit stumped by it too. I refuse to take hormonal contraceptives as they make me feel like all the time whilst on them.

Has anyone any experience?
