Minor proplapse

Any experience of this? I have a heavy feeling when running - a specialist said I have a minor prolapse, but it only shows up when I'm running or similar. She said running is still fine, but low impact exercise is better.

I've always done loads of walking as exercise, but I'm planning to go back to work over the next year or so, and I'll need another form of exercise. I've been thinking about running (not particularly seriously - just park run or something which would easily fit in with the kids). But the doc scared me off a bit by telling me to wear a tampon or something and do loads of extra pelvic floor exercises if I wanted to run! Any experience - should I find something else?
