How to stop receiving Cervical Screening invitations

Any advice appreciated!

I received a cervical screening (smear test) invitation a couple of months ago. I don't have my cervix anymore as it was removed as part of a hysterectomy. I contacted my GP surgery - they said I can fill in a 'disclaimer' but I will still receive an invitation every three years. I've now had another letter through the post saying their records show I 'haven't attended'.

It seems a waste of time and paper sending me the invitations, and the letters have an admonitory tone to them which is annoying - I always attended for my smears when I still had a cervix. I'd like to stop receiving these letters permanently without having to fill in a 'disclaimer'. Does anyone know how?

I popped into my local GPs and had a word with reception saying that I didn't need them anymore. They did whatever they do on the computer and I've never had an invitation since.

That's exactly what I hoped would happen, Sicario but my GP reception has told me they can't stop them.
