Hi I’m looking for some information please. I was seen today for a mammogram due to blood coming from my right nipple I have been told that I will be sent out an appointment to attend a further breast clinic within 2 weeks to get my results, but on the Nhs website it says results are posted out my head is doing overtime thinking she has seen something and that’s why I have to be seen again or is this normal procedure. Thank you

It's completely normal to go back in person for the results, please don't worry.

Screening mammograms results are sent by post. Yours is a diagnostic one, hence the clinic appointment. They're not going to send a potentially upsetting diagnosis via letter.
That being said, it will more than likely be ok.

Diagnostic ? Is that being that I had blood and not a routine one due to age etc Thank you for the reply’s

Your mammo was requested as you had bleeding from your nipple and so is classed as diagnostic, hence the appointment to get results.
Screening mammograms, routinely done due to your age, have results sent out via letter.

Hi. I had the exact same symptom but fortunately for me, the clinic I attended give you the results the same day. My bleeding had stopped by the time I was seen and they saw nothing worrying on the films. I hope you get a similar result.
