Fibroids....

I was diagnosed with several fibroids last winter - at the time I suffered from very heavy periods and bleeding daily for around 4 mnths, and had some cervical polyps removed.

Since the polyps have gone, my periods had settled down and not bleeding in between which is a relief. Up until now I have had no real issues with the fibroids, but seems that they have flared up again recently.

I am experiencing intermittent pelvic pain, especially approaching time of the mnth, bloating and feeling 'heavy' around my womb area, need urinate frequently, and am occasionally constipated, so just wanted reassurance from others these symptons are 'normal'. Ibuprofen does seem to help for pain relief but don't like taking too much medication if it can be helped.

I am currently waiting for a dr's apt, but they have a 6 week waiting list. I am also 47 and no doubt approaching menopause which I am sure has a lot to do with it!

Any similar experiences/advice gratefully received, thanks.

I also have them and was told that unless they are causing any problems they should shrink and practically disappear when I hit the menopause ! I've had no issues even when pregnant but my mother had to have them removed due to problems but I'm not sure what kind unfortunately
If they are a pain in the arse go and see if they can be removed or at least make sure I'm correct in saying they should go away when the menopause hits

I am the same age as you and had fibroids removed last year. I have the same symptoms monthly as you describe but have had recent tests and got the all clear. It all comes under PMT and there is nothing to be done about that apparently. I am grateful not to have heavy periods though and am looking forward to those disappearing gracefully sometime soon Hmm

I had similar OP. Period from September until December when I had a biopsy . All ok, just the dreaded F word mentioned and if the bleeding continued I'd be having a hysterectomy. No further bleeding but I get period pains a lot although they're not as bad now 🤷‍♀️
