Why would she have made me do a pregnancy test?!

I had an internal scan today to check up on a cyst on my ovary (that has grown in size again, sigh).

After the scan she said I'll refer you to the hospital blah blah and then she said, can I get you to go an do a pregnancy test to humour me.

But she'd just seen all of my uterus surely and would have seen if there was anything in there?! The test came back negative so that's good but it has made me very curious.

I think if it's very early on they can't see anything. It's not till about 6/8 weeks that they can see. She may have also thought that you were recently pregnant (chemical etc) as a reason for the enlarged cyst?

A test will show positive before anything is visible on a scan so she was probably checking you weren't very early on in pregnancy.
