Right. So. I don’t know if I’m stupid or if I have a stupid vagina/cervix.
I don’t even know where to begin!
Since having kids I’ve been aware that things have felt a bit different. I worried for a while about prolapse, but at a smear a few years back was told all looks fine on that front. I’ve just been aware that something has felt very low down and always assumed it to be my cervix. During periods it feels very heavy and has occasionally resulted in tampons feeling like they’re not in quite right.
Now, I do consider myself to be fairly intelligent but I’m not really hot on what’s what and anatomy. Yes it’s my body, but just didn’t really think too much about the physical aspects of what is where until now.
I’ve just started looking into getting a menstrual cup for the above reasons with tampons. I assumed I would need a short one due to what I’ve thought to be the low cervix.
Here’s the issue. I now don’t know if what I’ve been feeling even is my cervix because I can reach behind it and push a tampon or my finger, or of course DH during sex right up really deep. I think I kind of thought this all went behind the cervix but having resorted to looking at diagrams like a 12 year old in a biology lesson I can see the cervix is the only thing there and there’s no area behind it! God I’m so embarrassed!
Sorry if all this is TMI but what can I feel before my finger goes up? Medically I’m pretty sure nothing is wrong as have had two smears in this time, and apart from the second one being very fiddly because of this ‘thing’ there’s been no issue. It feels firm but squishy...oh god I just don’t know and I’m far too embarrassed to go and ask a professional to give my chuff a once over just so I can have an anatomy lesson!
Any ideas?!
And not sure now where to even begin with the menstrual cups!
