Vaginismus

Hi,

I have been diagnosed with Vaginismus Sad

My LB is 10 months old and since giving birth, my partner and I have only been able to successfully have sex twice. It has now been atleast 7 months until the last time!

My partner is understanding and doesn’t push me to have sex but I feel so down on myself for not being able to have sex!

Has anyone had this? Was it easy to overcome? I have been told I need psychosexual therapy.

TIA

I knew someone who had this . She was given different sizes penis shaped things to gently try to insert. Could you ask if this is available to try ?

I have those, the doctor prescribed them to me but also put me on a penetration ban until I start my therapy - maybe I should try them anyway!

I used to have a tendency to get cystitis. After the last flare up 4 years ago I have been unable to face sex; I'm so terrified I can't even manage a smear test 🙄

I had this for 2/3 years completely out of the blue. I’ve managed to cure it but for me personally, dilators didn’t work at all

I have this too, op. I've only just started tackling it as
there was no need before new partner.

I found this [link below] exercise helpful, though I'm no where near
cured. Far from it tbh.

I suffered from this as a young woman. The thing that sorted it for me was switching to a diaphragm for contraception. You have to learn to relax in order to put it in/take it out, and it seemed to accomplish (by accident) the same thing as dilators.

It's a bugger though - it really makes you feel crap about yourself, in my experience. Hopefully counselling and dilators will help you. Flowers

FreshFreesias - oh no! I’ve never had cystitis but kinda feel your pain.

Louisasasa - how did you cure it?

UsernameDeclined - I will have a look, thank you. Hope you are cured soon!!

FermatsTheorem - yes, I feel very crap about myself. I express this to my partner and he tells me not to feel so bad, but I can’t help it! Thanks for your well wishes.

Xx
