Urgent referral despite my GP saying she didn't think the pain lve been suffering warranted it 😕 Single parent and my imagination running riot. Can't see me sleeping well tonight.

Thinking of you.

I know you know this, but... if you can, try not to let your thoughts get carried away with imagined scenarios. It is a waste of your mental energy.

Go to your appointment with an open mind.

I would be inclined to take someone along with me in case afterwards I couldn't fully remember what was said.

Good luck.

Thank you MollyHuaCha - l alternate between calm and rational and total panic. My friend is coming with me but just feel sick.

Ah friendly I really hope it goes okay. Glad you have your friend to go with you.
I know it’s difficult but everything feels worse when you’re tired so have a bath, put some calming music on (but don’t otherwise look at a screen) or listen to a drama/audible.com or something.

I'm so glad you have someone to go with you.

How long till the appointment?

cakeandchampagne · 20/08/2019 00:21

I’m glad a friend is going with you. Maybe you can watch some shows until you feel sleepy? Thinking of you.

friendlymum67 · 20/08/2019 00:35

Thank you ladies - l am tired so maybe l will sleep better than l think.

Appt isn't until the afternoon and been told to expect to be there 3 - 4 hrs!

Hate not telling my children (16 and 20) but don't want them worrying as well, especially my daughter.

How did you get on?
X

friendlymum67 · 20/08/2019 18:21

Walkamileinmyshoes - thanks so much for asking. All is fine thank goodness, saw a consultant, had mammogram and ultrasound which shows some thickening/ridging of fatty tissue which apparently is common as you get older! All done in 2.5 hrs.
Thank you again for asking 😊 x

Very pleased to hear. A few of us around and about on the forum with similar stuff going on. Good to hear good news.

friendlymum67 · 20/08/2019 23:18

Thank you everyone - can't tell you how relieved l am. The support on here has been invaluable and much appreciated. I hope others in similar postions have the same outcome 😊

Glad it all went well, friendly.
Do you mind me asking about the process? You talked to your GP about pain, but she didn’t refer you?

friendlymum67 · 06/09/2019 16:07

Sorry walkamileinmyshoes l've only just seen your comment.

My GP did refer me, even there was no lumps felt, she did it to reassure me. I visited the breast clinic and saw a consultant who examined me, had a mammogram and then an ultrasound to clarify some dense tissue they could see was nothing sinister.
