This is going to be TMI but I think I need advice on the next step.

Last night my DH and I were doing the deed and it felt like there wasn't as much room in there as normal. I was discussing all that I am about to explain and he said he thought it was a bit different like there was less room too.

This morning I got up and the smell down below was vile and fishy I did wee after sex as recommended so thought having a bath would help. I'm now itchy and sore and have discharge. I am sure that I have BV but what is going on with there being not much room in there?

I'm going to the doctors tomorrow does it warrant an emergency walk in appointment do you think?

Check you’ve not left a tampon in there first..

The discharge does sound like BV. If you can I would go to a walk in GUM clinic (most cities and big towns have them) as they will be able to do a full examination, swabs, microscopy etc. GPs will struggle to diagnose in a 10 min appointment unless they have good knowledge of GUM. Was it painful when you had sex? The ‘less room’ issue could be swelling? Often people have thrush and BV at the time time and thrush can cause swelling, itchiness, soreness etc if you get a bad outbreak. I would see a GP or a GUM though a bog standard walk in centre probably won’t have a clue. If you can’t get anywhere buy over the counter thrush and BV treatment and give it a couple of days it may have completely cleared up.

As @BillywilliamV said though have a good fish around for a tampon even if it’s been ages as that’s more common than you’d think!

My next period is in two days and we have had sex several times since the last one with no issues. I will check but I am certain it will be clear. I will have to look into the GUM clinics in the area as I've been married for 13 years it's not somewhere I've been since I was a teenager.
