Norethisterone. Or if you take the combined pill dont take a 7 day break and run the packs together

PeppermintPatty10 · 08/08/2019 08:50

I think the pill is your best option - if you start it a few months before the event, you should be able to skip a period by running two packs together. If there’s time, go to your doctor now? You can explain about your very heavy flow as well and I’m sure he/she will be sympathetic!

Ooh I think the contraceptive injection has the same effect, but for many months. I think lots of women are anaemic because of their heavy periods.

Yes your doctor can prescribe a pill to delay a period, go and speak to them

DaisyMay25 · 08/08/2019 08:53

Superdrug and boots have just started selling the delays period pills, might be a little pricey though

stucknoue · 08/08/2019 08:56

Depends when, there's medication you can take to delay (3 pills a day) you can take 2 contraceptive pill cycles back to back. I also highly recommend period pants in addition to pads, tampons, or cup for heavy flow.

If it's 2 months off I would recommend the delay pills to alter your cycle in advance because I found they made me feel a little queasy

My periods are very chaotic, so never know when their going to come, sometimes get 2 in one month. I'm not on any contraception and the wedding is this weekend. I think I am just going to need to see it through, hopefully the pains at least away.

I think I will make appointment to go back to the doctors and see what other contraception I can take that will hopefully stop them.

Thanks everyone.

Dont try the injection, it made me bleed all the time

Robs20 · 08/08/2019 08:57

Norethisterone!

idhavenoluckifitwasntforbadluc · 08/08/2019 09:02

That's why I stopped injection, i became very hormonal and bled constantly.

I've tried different pills as well as some have bad effect.

My husband has snip so just came off everything but think I need to do something as it's getting me down again.
