Just looking for a little advice really, I don't want to unnecessarily panic or take time from the strained NHS if it's just a normal occurrence during the late stages of pregnancy, forgive me it's my first one so I am still trying to figure this new body and it's functions out Confused
I am 39 weeks pregnant and a few days ago I started getting a bright yellow discharge, it's thin in consistency but does sometimes have a thin jelly like substance. I originally thought it was just general leaking because apparently my pelvic floor exercises haven't been very effective. Anyway.. yesterday there was so much to the point last night in bed when I woke up during the night I thought I had peed, but I hadn't it was this discharge again, all day today it's just leaking out. (I am so sorry this is really grim) Any ideas?

Put a pad on and phone triage or your mw

From my experience lots of discharge late in pregnancy was normal. Does it smell at all? Do you have any itching? If not then it's probably nothing to worry about but definitely ask your MW. It's always worth mentioned anything your concerned about to them, even if it sounds silly. They've heard it all before. You won't shock them.

It's also definitely worth asking because they might want to check if your waters have broken and been leaking. My waters were clear and broke in a big gush so I knew it was that and not discharge.

I'd call triage just incase it's an indication that baby has opened their bowels. Best to be safe than sorry.

Thank you all, no there's no smell or itching I will give my MW a call. I should've done that in the first place shouldn't I!
