I'm 21 years old, not pregnant. I have eye floater since March 2019, only in the right eye, and really annoying, they irritate the life out of me. Already check to optician and he said its only floater dont need to worry. But really felt very desperate, i search on google they said floaters only apppear on older people but im just 21??!! Really make me sad and sad :( I see black stringy line, maybe there are 2-3 long lines, and some spots or clouds always move every time I move my eyes. Very depressed. Sometimes feeling life has no meaning because every day I cry and despair. I dont know people who has them and feel im alone in this. Please for anyone who has eye floaters and is used to them and is not bothered at all please tell me your story, i need that story to give me hope that I can do it too. please share your stories, IT WILL HELP ME A LOT!! And please no negative stories, only positive ones !! Thankyouu .

@Thisisme12345
What do you mean by they went away? So you dont have floaters anymore? Or they are still there but you just dont notice them anymore?

I don't have them anymore. Occasionally, every few weeks, I will see one that vanished quite quickly, but that's no where near the scale they used to be.

feren · 01/08/2019 16:42

Oh thats mean your floaters has lessened, you are so lucky!

Floaters do not go away, and there is no cure, your brain merely learns to ignore them, by looking past them.

I have all sorts of floaters as I am very short sighted. I have lines, and dots, and clouds. When they first appeared I saw them a lot, but now several years later, I can find them if I concentrate, but generally I don't notice them. I notice new ones when they occur, and sometimes if I am tired they are more noticable but in general they are no worse then having dirty contacts! OP it will get better.

candycane222 · 01/08/2019 16:48

I'm sure they will fade into your mental background.

Also, as you say they are most noticeable in sunshine, perhaps you are not wearing sunglasses? Maybe you should do, as they are good for your eyes over the long term (so long as they are the proper UV tested sort, which most are nowadays I think).

feren · 01/08/2019 17:13

@SilentSister
yes, my opt also said they usually cant dissapear, but i my brain can adapt. Do you still remember how long it take for you to stop noticing them? Btw thankyou for sharing your experience.

@candycane222
Yes, i do wear sunglasses but just started wearing them for few days.

I've got all sorts of junk floating round my eyes - dots, lines, clouds. I'm 44, had them at least 20 years. I'm very used to them, haven't noticed them for ages - just on reading this thread! Then I just said, "wheeeeeee!" as they foated about Grin

SoyDora · 01/08/2019 17:22

I don’t think you’ll get any radically different replies to your last thread on the subject OP.

Bee876 · 01/08/2019 18:35

Get them checked again, especially if you get any other odd symptoms. I had them for years, turned out I was walking round with detached retinas following an accident as a child.

feren · 02/08/2019 11:56

@elQuintoConyo
Hi, do you ever get annoyed by them again now? i hope i can stop noticing themAngryAngry

@SoyDora
I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you with this thread. I know i sounds weird and absurd but on my situation right now the only relief i got was to know there are many many people who have the same conditions as me but have stopped noticing floaters.

OP posts:
elQuintoConyo · 02/08/2019 16:06

No, I don't get annoyed by them. I don't notice them at all, only noticing them now as this thread has made me think of them Grin

Please fontfeorry about them but do visit your GP if your anxiety is rising Flowers
