Periods gone odd after weight loss

I’ve recently lost about a stone taking me from the top of a healthy BMI to the middle so not drastic or unhealthy but lighter than my usual.

2 months ago I missed a period and I’m now a couple of weeks late again.
(To clarify I’ve had one in between)

It’s a pain because I like to know when to expect my period and I’ve always been very regular.

I still seem to get PMT but it doesn’t lead to a period.

I’m 38

Does this warrant a gp visit or just one of those things?

Out of interest, what is your weight now?
I ask because I've lost 6 stone and now weigh 9st, not underweight I know but my periods are all over the place. I'm 38 too and wondered if this is peri menopause beginning, I have the implant so could also be connected to that.

I’m 8.10 now-lightest I’ve been since I was a teenager but like you-not underweight (well done on 6 stone btw!)
It may not be related to the weight loss but I do have a vague memory of missing a period in the past when I was on a diet.

You're definitely not pregnant?

I think weight loss / change can affect your periods. Also exercise. But it could also be the start of menopause.

@RightMover well done on your weight loss - any tips on how to do it?!?!?

This happened to me when I did low carbing. Only went regular again when I stopped low carb and put the weight back on Confused

Pretty sure not pg-the fact I had a period last month plus no symptoms (have 2 children and ‘knew’ almost immediately)
But you’ve panicked me now!

I lost a shit tonne of weight this and last year through illness - now put on a stone again and periods have come back very regularly - though I'm 46 and probably peri menopausal too.

I don’t want to put the weight back on and I’m happy to have less frequent periods but it’s a pain not knowing when they will happen

I’ve lost weight and my periods are a lot lighter.
