Prolapse repair

Hi everyone!

Can you talk me through your experience of prolapse repair? My GP has agreed to refer me due to extent of cystocyle and rectocyle prolapse. I'm also having issues with contraception so it's likely that I will have a hysterectomy.

What is the recovery time like?

How painful is it?

Is it possible to have it repaired without mesh?

I’m in hospital recovering as I type. I have prolapse repair and they took out my Fallopian tubes at the same time

Recovery is 4-6 weeks. I’m in a bit of pain, mostly trapped wind

I had mesh but not in my caging or cervix. Think is was called laparoscopic hsterplexy

Caging? That should say vagina.
