Back pain- kidneys?

Hi, does anyone have any experience of kidney infections?

I noticed this morning that I was needing to wee more than usual, then had a wee which really hurt at the end- like a deep achy pain inside me. I’d had a bit of a sore lower back before that, but put it down to hip problems (waiting for surgery).

An hour later I could hardly walk upright, and still can’t. My lower back and abdomen on the left are both painful. I’ve googled and it sounds very much like a kidney infection.

I’ve drunk lots of water and my wee is a pretty normal clearish colour, but the pain is still there.

You'll probably need an antibiotic for a kidney infection so I'd advise speaking to a gp before the weekend.

Get an urgent GP appointment today, they can dip test your urine. Often worth taking a sample with you in a clean container if you can. You may need antibiotics and the sooner you get them started the better. Good luck.

Thanks for replying. I think I passed a kidney stone! There’s residual pain still there, but nothing like before; I can walk upright now- just.

I’ll make an appointment anyway.
