Can the morning after pill cause a much longer period?

I took the morning after pill on CD10. I started bleeding on CD16 but the bleeding hasn't stopped. My period is due today (usually 26 day cycle) so I've now been bleeding for 12 days. I've taken the morning after pill before and never had bleeding like this before. I did have non stop bleeding for 16 days, with spotting continuing afterwards, a couple of months back. I had an ultrasound and they couldn't find anything wrong. I had the copper coil at the time and they thought that could have been the cause. The coil ultimately came out on its own and since then my periods have been normal (4/5 days) and regular. I don't know if this bleeding now is caused by the MAP or if it's indicative of something else going on. Should I see the GP again, or just wait and see?
