Anyone on Cerazette or have been?

I’ve been on Cerazette for 6 weeks now. The first maybe 2/3 weeks I had no problems with it. But for the past 3 weeks ish I’ve been feeling sick, suffering with headaches, been way more tired than usual and every now and then I seem to have no appetite. I just generally don’t feel my self and just feel shitty all the time. Has anyone else felt like this while on this pill? Considering changing bc.

I really did not get on well with cerazette. I was bleeding for the whole 3 months I was on it and felt awful. I swapped to microgynon and haven't had a problem, been on it for 5 years!

cricketmum84 · 23/06/2019 10:24

I've been on it for 4 years, virtually no bleeding at all and no bad side effects. It's the best method I've ever used.

jackparlabane · 23/06/2019 10:28

It was brilliant when I took it after baby 1. Then I took it again after baby 2 and felt extra tired and got suicidally depressed. The HV and docs thought it couldn't be the cerazette as I'd been fine before, but the symptoms vanished for good within 48 hours of my stopping it.

Grumpymug · 23/06/2019 10:31

I've been on it twice, first time had no periods, no issues at all. Went back on it about 4 years later and it was a nightmare, same symptoms you describe and after my second bleed on it I just carried on bleeding and felt utterly crap. Effective as a contraceptive alright because I never wanted to contemplate sex! Persevered for 3 months and gave up, by then fwb had done one so haven't been on anything else since.

Groovee · 23/06/2019 11:22

I really struggled on it. Felt like I lost it for the stupidest of reasons. Constantly had the rage. Bled for 6 months. Was the best thing ever when I came off it x

Thanks for your replies. Going to try it for another few days and if no change then I’ll have a look at alternatives. I had the implant before starting this pill and I absolute hated it so got it removed. Was so happy at the start as no side effects but not anymore :(

I had those exact symptoms to start with then it was great for a year. I’m on the injection now and seriously regretting it because it’s the same again but a lot worse.

Chip22 · 23/06/2019 13:40

I think I had those symptoms for 1-2 months then nothing and no AF! Was very glad I persevered

Haybo26 · 23/06/2019 13:44

I loved it apart from the seriously painful swollen breasts it gave me every single day! Ouch!

olivo · 23/06/2019 13:55

I've been on it for about 8 months, no bleeding and no side effects apart fro some weight gain ( but a change in lifestyle might always be to blame) all Pills have suited me except Marvelon.

chipscheesegravy · 23/06/2019 14:26

I was on it for years and loved it. No side effects and no periods!

QuilliamCakespeare · 23/06/2019 14:35

@jackparlabane That's really interesting the read. I was fine on Cerezette before my second but since his birth I've been back on it and feel like I have PMT all the time. I'm planning to ditch it as try the coil instead...

hennythe100footbird · 23/06/2019 14:41

I got pregnant on Cerazette!

jackparlabane · 23/06/2019 14:53

@QuilliamCakespeare The docs looked it up and apparently you can react differently the second time - they apologised profusely but it hadn't occurred to me either (I'm as qualified as they were).
I love my coil.

LollySox · 23/06/2019 14:56

I really didn't like Cerazette or Cerelle, acne, depression, low sex drive. But now I'm on Noriday and finding the side effects are lesser but I still get periods boo!

Ez123 · 23/06/2019 15:16

I only start to feel poorly around 3/4ish! Still annoying! Think I’ll try and go on something else as now it’s 3:15 and I’ve started feeling like crap againGrin

I've been on it twice, the first time I struggled with spotting and low moods, I stopped for a few months then tried again and no issues. I can only assume it was because I'd been coming off the combined pill (Microgynon) and my body was less than happy. I've a Mirena in atm, major mistake, I've never felt this bad... I'll be demanding to go back on it and get this evil device out!

Ez123 · 23/06/2019 16:40

I was the same with the implant, it was horrible. I felt so low and made me very snappy. My moods have gone better with the pill, now I’m struggling with the physical issuesAngry

It was horrific for me! Worst 6 weeks of my life. I had constant rage and became a absolute tearful borderline suicidal wreck! It made me realise I do not tolerate progesterone well.
