Cervix tear after delivery

My son was born three months ago, ended up being a ventouse delivery in theatre.

I've been having pain in my cervix and got a check up with my GP. Turns out my cervix is torn and I have a segment of cervix flapping away from the rest.

The gynaecologists here won't take a referral until I'm 6 months post partum, and then it's a 32 week wait. They said it might heal on its own.

That sounds ridiculous to me, the GP said that they should have noticed it during delivery and stitched it up when they were stitching my episiotomy.

Has anyone else had a torn cervix discovered after delivery? Will it heal spontaneously?
