Insomnia before period

I’ve never been the best sleeper. There’s always something that disrupts me. But I have noticed a pattern that before a period I can toss and turn and just can’t get to sleep. I also feel really hot (am not a warm person). It was 4am last night that I finally got to sleep and lasted 2 hours.
I’m pretty sure it’s my hormones as it normally gets better after my period arrives.
I’ve googled and agnus castus comes up as something to try. I already take star flower oil daily.
Herbal nytol does diddly-squat.

Anybody have any tips? Am sick of feeling drained.

No tips but following with interest as this is exactly what happens to me except I'm a great sleeper normally.

What does star flower do?

When I've looked into it the advice I received was to cut sugar and dairy from my diet, also all caffeine. Apparently this will help your hormones settle. I've not managed this so far though.

Star flower really helps with sore boobs (another symptom I get up to a week before a period). It’s really great and has made a huge difference to me. I really notice if I miss some days taking it.

I already cut down hugely on caffeine bar the odd Diet Coke (if out for a meal).

Sugar is my nemesis!!

Feeling on edge after 2 nights of hardly any sleep.

Have read reviews of agnus castus being good for pmt but I’m interested in regards to sleep.

I’m 45 and probably peri menopausal though do have regular periods. Have felt like this for years though.
