Brown discharge/blood before period

Hey guys, I’m new here and need to ask something which I’m worried about. My usual cycle is for 27 days, and I’m always on time. However, on CD29, when I realised that my period was slightly late, I started to have some very light brown vaginal discharge. There’s only been a tiny amount, only when I wipe and it’s not enough for a pad. (Sorry, TMI!) I’ve had the usual period cramps although they’re not as strong as they usually are, and I’ve been exhausted in the last few days. I’ve heard that this could be implantation bleeding, but I don’t think that’s possible this month, as both me and the husband were super busy, and we only did the deed twice, once a day before my fertile window, and once later on, much later on. I usually know when I ovulate, as I have ovulation pains at the same time each month.
Is this normal? Has anyone else had this, and what did it turn out to be? It’s now day 31 of my cycle, and I still have the brown discharge although it’s super light now. It started off super light too, and I don’t know what it is because it does seem like old blood, but it’s not a normal period. I’m 22 years old, and I’m really worried about what’s going on as I have absolutely no idea.
It’d mean a lot if anyone could help me out! x

I haven’t taken a test, because there’s not much chance of pregnancy, and I just.. know I’m not. Even right now I’m getting some period cramps, but my period is not properly starting. Is it possible that I’m just having a light period this month? The colour is literally the colour it usually is on the 6th and last day. The colour has been light brown since the first day.. it’s so weird.
Can this be due to stress, or diet?

Shouldn’t I wait a few days though before taking a test? Did you have period like cramps too? And another thing. I had super sore nipples, too. Still tmi, but I couldn’t have my partner even touch them the last few days. But that usually happens before my period too. So confused

You sound pregnant. Just do a test lol!

dreamerkr · 27/05/2019 16:38

But I can’t be pregnant! Because my partner came...outside. I know there’s still a chance, but it’s like a 1% chance. He pulled out and came outside... in that area but not inside. If you get what I mean lol
I feel like my period is gonna properly start any second but this has never happened before. I’ll take a test tomorrow, if I haven’t started my period by then.

I used to get this, just before my period started and it’s quite normal.

If you haven’t started by tomorrow though do take a test.

dreamerkr · 27/05/2019 16:49

Yeah, I will take a test if I haven’t started by tomorrow. I think I’m gonna start soon, but it’s really weird because this hasn’t ever happened before

So I took a strip test.. don’t know how reliable the Freedom pregnancy test strips are, but I think I am seeing a very faint line? How can I post a picture?

OP posts:
dreamerkr · 28/05/2019 19:57

Anyone?

It's pretty normal to have dark blood before a period, and I would hazard a guess if you're feeling very tired that it's likely to be a heavy one. I wouldn't worry too much to be honest. If no bright red bleeding in a day or so it won't hurt to do the test. In my experiecne you'll get a full on heavy period right after you see that 'negative' strip on the test!

It’s not dark blood at all, it was light brown discharge or blood which I had for the last three days. It’s finished now. I took a strip test which had a faint coloured line but I’m not sure, it might be an evaporation line? Should I take a digital test?

Do you want to be pregnant?

dreamerkr · 28/05/2019 20:12

I actually don’t mind, me and the hubby were planning to start trying in a few months, but we would be happy if we were now. And I can’t add a picture, because I’m new here. I think it only allows to add a photo if you’ve been on here for over 24 hours.
Are freedom test strips reliable? I don’t know if it’s a faint positive or an evaporation line

Positive or evap line?

It definitely looks positive to me. Congratulations!

dreamerkr · 30/05/2019 14:12

I still feel like my period is gonna start at any second! But I took a clearblue digital and it’s positive... I’m shocked! Can it be possible that they’re false positives?

Congrats! False positives are very rare.

dreamerkr · 30/05/2019 14:37

But these cramps! They’re worrying me so much.. they’re not that strong, but they’re literally the only symptom I have right now, and it feels like my period is gonna start. I’m going crazy. Got a doctor’s appointment tomorrow, I hope they confirm it with a blood test but I don’t think i’d believe it even then!

OP posts:
dreamerkr · 30/05/2019 14:38

Can the positive pregnancy tests be caused by anything else?! I’m so sorry for these stupid questions guys but I’m going crazy

DiaryofWimpyMumm · 30/05/2019 14:42

No, you're pregnant. I had the same when I fell pregnant and found it hard to believe. Congratulations !!

FloatingthroughSpace · 30/05/2019 14:45

Cramps are normal in early pregnancy. It's the uterus stretching.
