Very painful boobs before periods

Both boobs hurt, one hurts a bit more than the other. The pain starts about 8 day’s before period and goes on for 5-7 days.

I never had period related boob pain before. I’m 38 and this has been happening only for a few months.

Anyone else with this problem? Can it be treated?

Has it always been like this? I ask because increased breast pain before your period is a symptom of perimenopause. When did your Mum have the menopause?

High strength is very good for breast pain. Although it doesn’t work for everyone and takes a month or two to have an effect. It’s not expensive though so def worth trying imo. It’s really helped me and now I barely get any breast pain. Like you I was 38 when mine came out of nowhere.

Lol high strength evening primrose oil is what I meant. Sorry. Hangover Blush

Thanks ladies.

@HennyPennyHorror : My mum had her menopause in late 40s or early 50s I guess. Definitely not at my age!!!
It hasn’t always been like this. Started about 9-10 months ago.

@mynameischarlesII Thank you. I will buy it today.

They can upset your stomach/bowels a bit to start with so be aware of that but it does wear off.

Same for me OP (35) having never previously had this issue before. I put it down to age and increase in hormones (I'm getting hormonal spots on my jawline too)

Flower Perimenopause begins sometimes years before actual menopause. The sore breasts are a symptom of it.

I'm 38 and have been perimenopausal for a few years. I've found agnus castus a good supplement for it - I ran out a few months ago and really noticed a difference.

HennyPennyHorror · 26/05/2019 09:59

Oreo I'll have a look at that. I'm perimenopausal too!

I startef getting sore boobs two weeks before my period ten years ago. I spent last night googling solutions as I really can't live with it anymore. Agnes Cactus and EPO seem to be the only solutions! Plus no caffeine, alcohol, salt or fat in your diet. Nothing else and given you have to be on super strength EPO for several months before you see an effect there is NO easy or quick solution.

BTW, I was 37 when it started. Still no sign of menopause. I had an injection of Decapeptyl recently which induces a false and temporary menopause and for the first time in a decade had six full weeks of no hormone fluctuations! No bloating, cravings or sore breasts. I was heavenly. Roll on menopause if that's what it will be like.

Autocorrect makes Agnus Castus into the lesser known Agnes Cactus!
