Sterilisation dh or me?

We’ve decided our family is complete and want a reliable non hormone method of contraception. Dh and I are both open to the idea of one of us being sterilised. However, we haven’t really heard much about female sterilisation. Dh takes medication which increases the risk of bruising which is why we’re contemplating me doing it. Dh could get it done though as far as we are aware—he also needs to stop listening to horror stories and wind ups from his mates—

However, the only woman I know who’s had it done had horrible gas for weeks after and said it was like early labour after. Granted everyone maybe slightly different after a procedure but I just wondered if anyone had a) had it done b) had any advice regarding who it’s safer to get done iyswim!
We will be going to the gp but I just wanted a bit of general information.

Definitely dh

For him it’s a local anesthetic, minimal invasion, no bleeding.
For you it would be the opposite!
