Previous history of spotting on many types of contraception, 10 years later and post children, shall I try again?

I want to try the Mirena as I get really heavy periods after having 2 kids in the last 6 years. I also get really bad PMT.
I’ve always had painful and fairly heavy periods and in my 20’s I tried various contraception and I spotted most days for months on each one I tried. Do you think it would happen again or could it be different this time? Any experience welcome

Some women have problems with the Mirena due to bleeding issues so end up having this removed. I would not consider this as a treatment option for what you have experienced.

I would try and properly establish the root cause of both the heavy periods and pain (endometriosis for instance causes both) rather than just try and treat the symptoms with the Mirena. I would be asking the GP for a referral to a gynae; you do warrant further investigation here than what a GP can provide.

Thank you Attila I had full investigations when I was in my 20’s and no issues just the way I am I guess. Not sure if it’s a thing but I do feel full of hormones and I have conceived my 2 children in the first cycle of trying so I just feel I have raging hormones 😬
Would you think it’s better to do all the gynae referrals again and scans etc or just accept that I’m ok? It’s me
