Contraction when not pregnant

What is this? It’s only happened twice in my life but both times I thought I was going to die. It’s a full blown single contraction of all my lower organs that lasts about an hour. My DM has had the same thing but the doctors weren’t particularly helpful.

It was the worst pain I have ever felt and could ever imagine feeling.

Did they check for cysts?

Any severe abdominal pain should be checked out by a doctor, if I were you I would make a GP appointment.

I don’t have it now-it happened about 6 months ago and to my DM twice when she was in her teens. She got told it was a fake labour.

I thought it was going to start again this morning but it subsided into normal period pains after a few minutes.

IBS is like labour contractions for me.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 30/04/2019 09:43

Constipation has felt like labour to me a couple of times.

If it only happens when you're having a period it could be the uterus & cervix trying to expel a large clot. Otherwise do you have fibroids? Their blood supply can sometimes become restricted which can be extremely painful. This is called fibroid degeneration. I've had that but it was pretty localised, horrendously excruciating pain!
