I've been prescribed the above contraceptive pill to help get rid of my acne. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with it? I've heard you can gain weight so I'm a bit worried about that as I'm on slimming world and doing really well. Also I've been told it can make you feel like quite low and depressed. I just wanted good and bad opinions if anyone has been on this before?

Thanks

I believe this is the generic version of Dianette. I was on Dianette for over 10 years, and it did a great job of clearing up my acne. This was because my acne was caused by high androgens, and Dianette contains the anti-androgen cyproterine acetate. I didn’t gain weight or become depressed on it, but it did trigger autoimmune diseases for me. I wish I hadn’t taken it. If your acne has other causes I suggest trying other treatments first to see if they help (eg cutting out diary, taking a zinc supplement etc). Dianette can cause more problems than it solves, and I wouldn’t take it just to treat acne.
