Mooncup users - talk to me

So inspired by the huge thread on flushing tampons down the toilet recently-- I decided to try a mooncup.

I'd say it's pretty good for light days when you wouldn't change a tampon as often - and great to have no TSS worry BUT on my heavy day, it was 3/4 full after an hour and every time I've emptied the blood it has stained my toilet and I've had to flush a few times... not sure I could use the mooncup in public for this reason.

Sorry to be TMI but is my blood just especially thick? What do other women do?

Thanks

I find if you flush the loo ASAP and pour it into the water not down the side the staining doesn't happen or is much reduced.

When I used a mooncup before it never got full even in 12 hours. Now, sadly I overflow mine on heavy days within about 3-4 hours so have had to clean and re insert at work. I don't think I could be bothered with the faff if I had to do it as often as you. I also like them for anticipation of period.

It helps if you float a sheet of paper on top of the water and pour onto the middle of that

Empty it on to some toilet paper and then flush?

Or empty it into paper and put it in the sanitary bin just like you would a tampon?

All good suggestions! I feel a bit thick for not thinking of that 😂

I seem to have a lot of blood so not sure I could put in the sanitary bin without it being messy. I started my period 6 weeks after giving birth and it seems to be super heavy since having a baby ☹️☹️
