I've had it for almost a year and had some recent problems with heavy and prolonged bleeding so I was intending to get it removed anyway. But last night when I went to the toilet I could feel the strings hanging out of my vagina. I felt inside and it had completely come out of the cervix.
The thing is, my period is due today and I don't know what to expect. As it was the copper coil I know things should return back to normal pretty quickly, but having it come out so close to my period, I don't know if my period will be how it has been with the IUD - much longer and heavier. With that said, I have been getting spotting for a few days before my period since I've had the IUD and I've had nothing this month, which makes me wonder how long it's not been positioned quite right.
Has anyone had similar and can tell me what to expect?
