Termination - advice please

I had a termination in early February. It was a hard decision but was made based on much discussion and an understanding of the situation going forward. The termination went as planned, save for the fact that I bled a lot and had to have an injection to stem the bleeding. But I was discharged the next day without issue, having apparently passed all the material.

I am still bleeding, over 9 weeks later. The bleeding ebbs and flows; sometimes I flood and pass huge clots. Other times it's an extremely light flow. I don't have any other symptoms which might indicate I've retained any material. I rang the ward I was on and they said if I had worries I should ring my GP.

Has anyone had a termination and experienced something similar? Be grateful for any advice.

This is not normal at all, are you in the UK? If so please call 111 and explain, they will book you in same day to the hospital to be seen. You should only bleed for up to 2 weeks and even that shouldn’t be more than a normal period. Clots for 9 weeks is definitely not normal. Please call 111 or go to A&E to put your mind at rest. Let me know how you get on please xx

Yes, please do as Avalon says, this shouldn't happen and there could be an underlying cause which needs to be addressed. I would go to A&E if I were you, just to get this investigated straight away.

Take a pregnancy test too.

Medical attention ASAP. Sorry this is happening by the way.

Thank you for the replies, yes I am in the UK. Will give 111 a call and see what they say. I've been reluctant to go to A&E given that the ward nurse seemed quite dismissive; I didn't want to seem like I was wasting their time. But it is exhausting & it doesn't seem to be getting any better, so once I've rung 111 I'll go from there. Thank you all.
