At wits end with PMS

Hi everyone just looking to see if anyone has ever found a solution for this.

I was on the mini pill for about a year and since my periods have come back after coming off it I've been suffering with terrible PMS. My period is due on the 29th of this month and my boobs have been sore since the 8th. They get sorer as the month goes on until it gets to a point that if I accidentally brush my hand against my nipple it makes me gasp in pain.

I also get sore muscles and joints and feel so exhausted I struggle to get up off the couch if I sit down after work. I wouldn't mind so much if it was just a week of the month but along with the PMS then my actual period and the bad cramps that come with that I'm miserable the majority of the month Sad

Does anyone know anything that might help? Thanks in advance, guys!

I have similar issues, got sick of how the pill made me feel. Someone suggested taking a magnesium supplement at bed time. It has made a huge difference to me. Not a total eradication of symptoms but something I can live with.

I will try that, thank you! What strength do you take?

Sorry you are struggling. I'm 52 and it's all over for me, thank goodness. I suffered horribly from age 12, for 14 days each month. The only thing that ever lifted it was healthy eating and exercise. My DD21 recently embarked on a weight loss regime, eating lots of healthy foods and, despite suffering with PMS like me, for 2 months running her period has appeared by surprise, with no symptoms at all! Well worth considering some diet tweaks.

Ohhh that's interesting!! My diet probably needs a total overhaul never mind a few tweaks haha! This could be the kick up the backside I need.

Try it! After all, we are what we eat! I sailed through the menopause too!

I take a 375mg dose. I am better on a low carb diet too but I really struggle with it!

I find magnesium really helpful with the mental side of pms symptoms - calms irritability & grumpiness. The game changer for me with terrible muscle pain and sore joints has been taking Vitamin D. Its worked like a miracle drug for me.
