So the doc has suggested that I stop the pill and have a mirena coil fitted. Problems have been going amiss in the last couple of years with flooding and terrible period pain, and because I have PCOS my hair was going really thin. Gynae consultant just said to go back on the pill, and I have done for a while - but GP is now saying maybe time for a mirena.
I have asked about the issues I have heard others having, putting weight on, mood swings etc and doc says it should be less than any side effects from the pill as the hormone is localised in the cervix rather than like the pill 🤷♀️ I have always got on ok with the pill, no real side effects other than my libido going through the floor.
So - has anyone gone from pill to Mirena - what was your experience?
