Hi. I've got a uterine fibroid. When I don't have a Mirena in, I have nearly constant periods. When it is in, it suddenly starts causing me pain. I'm seeing a gynaecologist about it and have had several hysteroscopies over the last few years and constant problems - as well as a few ovarian cysts here and there too.
Earlier this week I had escalating pain and ended up in hospital where they took my mirena out once again, on Tuesday. They said they couldn't remove the fibroid (my gynaecologist can't see me until April) but that hopefully that would stop the pain, and they can't do anything else so they made me go home. The mirena removal wasn't like preview occasions, where it had been painless and quick. It took ages and hurt like hell - I was already on morphine and it was so bad I nearly passed out.
Anyway, the pain mostly went and I had very mild spotting but nothing worth writing home about. Until tonight.
Husband and I have been out for a nice meal tonight and have drunk a bottle of wine each (still a bit pissed to be honest). Suddenly as I was finishing my crème brulee I felt THE FEELING of sudden blood coming out. We rushed through payment and walked home (five minutes). By the time we were home there was blood down my jeans halfway to my knees, and a walnut size clot in my knickers.
I've rung 111 and a doctor is ringing me back. It's been an hour and a half now since it started and I'm still bleeding - I've just about filled a maternity pad. The thing is, I'm worried they'll send me to A&E and I don't want to spend all bloody night there only to be told to go home yet again.
Am I freaking out too much? Bearing in mind I'm really quite drunk. I mean, the bleeding is slowing down, but then again I'm getting increasing period pain which started after the bleeding started.
Doctor will call me back soon hopefully but I'm generally just so sick and tired of this but they won't give me a hysterectomy because I'm 35. Plus I'm in a new job and still on probation.
