Leaking urine. Embarrassed and low self confidence.

I recently had a baby (4 months ago) and have been doing my pelvic floors religiously. I did them every day for the last 6 months of my pregnancy too. After having my son I've been leaking urine throughout the day. Not so much when I cough or sneeze, but more a gradual leak throughout the day. I've been to the doctors but didn't realise they booked me an appointment with the nurse, who told me to just keep going my pelvic floors. Fair enough but I really don't think they're working. Has anyone experienced the same? Does it get better? I'm only in my mid 20s, I'm a single mum now and want to meet someone eventually. My confidence is through the floor and could do with heating other people's experiences and positive stories? Do I need to go and see my GP? I'm so low... :(

See your GP and take a urine sample with you to check for infection. Ask to be referred to a physio who specialises in women’s health.

Try not to be embarrassed, it happens to lots of women. Until you get it sorted buy some pads and change regularly and no-one will be any wiser.

See your Gp and as above ask to be referred to womens physio. Either that or the uro-gynae team.
