Brown discharge 5 days before period, bloody discharge after sex during this time

This is driving me crazy with worry.
Slight brown tinge to discharge 5 days before AF is due. If we have sex during those days it is pink / bloody straight after then back to slight brown tinge that I probably wouldn't even notice if we had beige toilet paper.
Beginning of November 2018 I had a cervical polyp removed and I had a smear test and three swabs and a pelvic ultrasound and polyp was sent off for analysis all came back clear. 2 weeks later I went in for a bilateral salpingectomy all went ok and they took another cervical biopsy then and all ok.
This is been consistent for the past 2 months. At the time the consultant said it could just be hormonal. I suppose I'm just kind of wondering if anybody else has had a similar thing and I'm not alone.

I am 35. I have often had brown spotting for sometimes a few days before my period properly starts but have found in recent years that if we have sex as far away as 5 or so days before I’m due there will be red blood. It then returns to nothing until I spot or start my period.

I don’t remember when it started. I presumed it was the norm. My last smear a year or so ago was normal. I do have very mild endometriosis but I don’t think that is related. I would have thought it is hormone related but maybe if it is not normal for you and you are worried you could go back to your dr and request further tests.
