Foul smell 6 weeks post c section? (TMI)

I hope someone has an idea as to what this might be, I'm freaking out slightly! :(
Over the past few days I noticed suddenly there's a foul smell to my lady parts and my discharge, and it's literally so foul... I can't compare it to anything. Its not fishy, its not metallic / musty like period blood, its more like a musky, dry, but strong smell. Symptoms don't sound like thrush or BV, and I 100% don't have any STIs either.

I've also had light bleeding or yellowish discharge on and off over the last couple of weeks. I bled properly for about 12 days post op, then stopped for a week and it restarted and has been like this since.
My wound looks good and I don't have any pain apart from some random burning stabs in random areas that I have had at times since the op, I think that's just healing.

Idk if related but I had a 37.5-37.8 temperature for about 24 hours last week but that went away, and then I've been having some gastrointestinal symptoms over the past few days that may or may not be related... (think a huge vom, belching rotten egg smell, and a bit of bloating/loose bowels)

I'm freaking out - my GP doesn't have any appointments until Friday, except on the day ones so will try to get one tomorrow but man, I'm really worried now!

If you can’t get an appointment could you call 111 for advice? Sounds like you need to see someone sooner rather than later. Good luck

111 have always been useless when I called them about anything I couldn't Google myself... It means they couldn't google it either rolls eyes one time they sent an ambulance to see me and there was literally nothing wrong except fanny daggers, which I later had answered by people, guess where, on this forum! Lol.

Go to the Gp or walk in centre as an emergency, you may have an infection internally-don't let them make you wait for this!!

Hazlenutpie · 11/02/2019 12:38

It sounds to me like an infection. If so, it needs treating urgently.

INeedNewShoes · 11/02/2019 12:39

You need to be seen straight away. It sounds like an infection and will require immediate treatment.

Get an appointment today or if you can't you'll have to go to a walk in centre or urgent care. Try 111 again.

I would go and get seen. Ring the GP be very graphic in description and offer to see the nurse if it's quicker.

You could have an infection or a little bit of something used in theatre broke off and left behind or something else but what you're describing doesn't sound normal.

I once accidentally left a piece of tampon inside and had bad smelling discharge. Something is not right. I would tell them I was getting cramp pains if they are ignoring you as you are. GP today if poss.

Thank you ladies, I think I needed to hear it from someone else... I went to be seen, got an emergency appointment - swab sent off, abdominal scan referral done, and antibiotics prescribed in the meantime. Not too happy having to take them when we aren't sure it's an infection but they said if it is I'll see improvement within 24-48 hours... Fingers crossed!
