Worried about partner's health.

SO! Here goes nothing.

Yesterday my partner ended up in the a&e after passing enormous clots of what looked like skin rather than blood - we later found out it was the lining of her uterus just it didn't break up into blood it just came out whole. (tmi, sorry)

We were obviously concerned so a&e seemed appropriate. They have now booked her for an internal ultrasound scan on Monday as they have found a cervical polyp. They've also sent the clot/tissues off to the lab (we were informed to bring it with us) so hopefully that gives us more answers.

She always bleeds after sex (pretty much 8 out of 10 times) and has had irregular periods ever since they began with her bleeding non stop from the summer until beginning of December when GP decided to put her on contraceptive injection. She stopped bleeding immediately and then started again 9 weeks after injection even though it's supposed to last 12 weeks. Blah blah details. So we're a bit worried, I think me more so as my periods have always been pretty regular.

She's never been pregnant and is only 20 so the cervical polyp is odd but nevertheless it does exist.

Has anyone ever been through something similar? Or have any advice? We'd appreciate anything!

This link looks useful. And positive that it can be fixed with simple treatment.

I can't offer any useful personal experience, but hope she gets it sorted soon. x

I had very similar symptoms (plus severe agonising pains) and it was due to endometriosis and PCOS. I also bled after about 8 weeks of the injection but they used to let me have them every 2 months instead of every 3 months and it really helped for a while.

I hope you get some answers soon x
