Periods heavier/more painful since having baby

My periods came back regularly in October when DC3 was 11m. Since starting again they've been increasingly painful & heavy for the first 2 days. Last month it felt like I was being stabbed in the abdomen occasionally but especially when going to the toilet. It's also making me v dizzy. DH has had to work from home for a day or 2 the last 2 months because I felt so bad.

I left it for a few months thinking it might settle down but I'm CD27 now & just hit by a wave of dizziness having had a slight heavy/full feeling in my pelvis on & off all day so I'm expecting the bleeding to start imminently. Obviously it's not settling & if anything is actually getting worse so I'll be calling my GP tomorrow.

Any suggestions what it could be? A kick up the backside to actually book the appt would be good too!

Get it booked! No answers but my periods have got successively heavier after each baby - I also get much more ill with PMT, it's as bad as morning sickness and I actually throw up. My mother had fibroids after her third and I keep wondering about that or endometriosis - my gp was noncommittal before, and then I got pregnant again, but when my cycle comes back after this baby if it shows up like before I'll definitely be knocking their door down!

I had very similar to you. Don’t panic cos it’s likely to be something very treatable.

The will probably want bloods to check your iron level. The next step was progesterone but I skipped that. They can give you Tranexamic or Menafemic acid.

Mine have got worse after having dc yes. I only had couple of periods between dc but comparing pre dc when my perods were entirely unproblematic they are heavier and more painful now. I have a day when I feel unbelievably grumpy/angry/short tempered, a day when I feel almost travel sick then two days of heavy bleeding and pain. The pain is in my lower back exactly where my contractions were with both of my back to back babies. My gp was unconcerned, but tbh your issues sound much worse than mine. My sister had a similar problems which were even worse as she had a third baby (I have two), she had a coil fitted which stopped her periods.
