Hi, just a bit of back story. In June last year after a routine smear, my results came back showing High Grade Dyskaryosis. I had a colposcopy and LLETZ and the results came back as CIN3 and all abnormal cells removed (fab!)

However, I've just had a 6mth follow up smear and my results have come back showing no abnormal cells (hooray!) but that I have a HPV infection.

Now awaiting another colposcopy, but can anyone share a similar experience. I'm really fretting over having to have LLETZ again as it was horrendous last time (local didn't work on my whole cervix) but all the info I can find online isn't too clear, from what I can gather they'll check for any abnormal cells and leave the HPV to my immune system to sort out, but may recommend yearly smears?

I'm super confused, so just wondering if anyone has been through similar and could shed some light on the next steps before I work myself into a tizzy!! Thank you so much in advance xx

I think you get yearly smears after abnormal cells. For a while anyway. I'm sure that's for the abnormal cells not the HPV, I could be wrong though. Ime they don't do anything about HPV.
