I have BV and I'm 2 (out of 5) days into treatment using metronidazole vaginal gel. I have a pack of Canesten BV treatment here; the probiotic gel stuff that you can use. I was going to use it alongside the metronidazole but the GP put me on the gel instead so thought there wasn't much point of popping a probiotic in while I'm putting antibiotics in too. My question is when, if at all, I should use the Canesten? Should I use it as soon as I've finished with the metronidazole, wait a few days, or just not bother at all and keep hold of it in case the BV comes back?
