A lot of blood during smear test

Went for smear this morning and I went to the loo and was bleeding bright red blood. Not due a period am on the combined pill. I informed the nurse who said it was fine and would continue but she said there was a lot of blood as if I was on a period. I was really stressed about going and I have had breakthrough bleeding in the past but not like this.

Anyone had similar experiences? So worried

Could it be combination of stress and the physical irritation to you have made you bleed? No experience personally but doesn't sound nice for you

I'm hoping it's just the stress but the blood was before the smear when I went the loo in waiting room, nothing earlier at home.

Happens to me any time anyone is messing about down there. Generally nothing to worry about.

Mention it next time you see the GP for prescription review.
