Biopsy results after hysteroscopy - bricking it!

Hi, I had a hysteroscopy on 8th Jan after unusual heavy and long bleeding, flooding and clotting and a subsequent vaginal ultrasound picked up a very thick endometrium of 24mm. I had biopsies done from my uterus wall and was told they’d be fast tracked for me. During the hysteroscopy they said my uterus wall looked abnormal and very thick and lumpy. To be honest my uterus feels massive, very bulky. I’m on norethisterone to stop the bleeding.

Obviously I’m worried and the waiting for results is horrendous.

Anyone else had this done? How long did you have to wait for biopsy results? Should I ring my consultant? I don’t want to nag them, I know the NHS is creaking under pressure but I just cant concentrate on anything else at the moment. I know it’s probably nothing and just hormonal - I’m peri menopausal aged 49. I need to stay off google!

I haven't had a hysteroscopy or a biopsy, but I had a scan last week which showed adenomyosis. This can cause a bulky uterus with thickened walls. Symptoms include pain and heavy bleeding.

I think if anything was seriously wrong you'd be told by now.

I had one privately and got the results in about 4 days but that was my consultant calling me.

The thickening is likely to be due to peri and irregualr periods / hormones.

It can also depend on where you are in your cycle of course.

I'd call the consultant's PA and ask for your results to be sent- they must know women worry.

I cracked and called today. My results have been posted out so I should get them tomorrow. They wouldn’t discuss over phone but I do think anything serious and I’d have a call to come in urgently. So I’m feeling a bit better about it today.

I’m just wondering now what they’re going to offer me to tackle the flooding etc. I can’t stay on norethisterone forever. I imagine the Mirena coil if they don’t find anything serious? I’ve read this can thin things out....

Have they suggested esmya? I've taken it and it was great. It's use was briefly suspended but it can be used again now. It's a tablet you take every day.

Biopsy results from womb all normal thank goodness but now they want to do biopsies from cervix. No plan yet how they’re going to stop the bleeding. Not heard of esmya? I’ve put on a stone so far with Norethisterone 😮

I was prescribed it privately. It's to shrink fibroids but also stops your period.
